Siat Geni 2026

Siat Geni, meaning ‘fire battle’, takes place on 26 September 2026 in Desa Adat Tuban, Kuta, Badung. Two local youth groups traditionally throw burning coconut-fibre bundles while gamelan plays. The fire represents purification and the release of negative energy during Purnama Kapat. Visitors may watch the ceremony, but should treat it as a religious ritual: keep a safe distance, follow local organisers’ instructions and do not interrupt participants. The organiser is Desa Tuban.
