Pura Tirta Empul is an active Hindu temple in Manukaya, Tampaksiring, Gianyar, built around a sacred spring. Its courtyards include shrines, prayer spaces and spring-fed pools used for melukat, a Balinese purification ritual. Visitors may explore and observe respectfully; this is a place of worship, not a show.

Open daily, 08:00–18:00 WITA. Wear a sarong and sash, follow signs and staff, and do not disrupt ceremonies. Pool access and melukat follow temple rules; basic entry is not a guided ritual package. Confirm any clothing, locker, offering or guide charges onsite.

Published ticket prices conflict: the temple and Indonesia.travel list adult IDR 75,000 and child (ages 5–12) IDR 50,000; the temple page says under-5s enter free.
