Makepung Lampit 2026

Makepung Lampit is a special Jembrana version of the famous Balinese buffalo races. On 15 November 2026, pairs of buffaloes will race through the muddy rice fields of Desa Kaliakah, pulling a flat wooden board called a lampit.

The jockey stands on the board and tries to keep balance as the animals move through water and mud. Unlike ordinary Makepung on a dry track, Makepung Lampit takes place in wet rice fields and reflects the agricultural history of West Bali. The Jembrana tourism office describes it as the closing event of the Makepung series.

The official event page lists an approximate start at 08:30 WITA. It does not publish an entrance fee. Visitors should follow local instructions and keep a safe distance from the race track.
