Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (Mandala Suci Wenara Wana) is a 12.5-hectare sacred forest, cultural space and conservation site in Padangtegal, central Ubud. It is home to Balinese long-tailed macaques, varied trees and three Hindu temple areas. Walk the forest paths and view temples and sculptures only from areas open to visitors; some temple spaces are reserved for prayer.
Open daily 09:00–18:00 WITA; last entry 17:00. Official admission: adult IDR 130,000; child IDR 100,000. The operator does not publish the child age range; confirm eligibility before visiting. Prices and hours may change.
Macaques are semi-wild: keep your distance, do not touch, pick up, feed or play with them, and avoid direct eye contact. Secure food and small belongings; plastic bags are prohibited. If a monkey approaches, stay calm and walk slowly. Follow staff directions, keep children close, dress respectfully and watch your step.
